For those looking forward to bid on the Mont Vernon landmark, you’ll have to wait another month. According to an article posted in the Milford Cabinet citing the attorney for Monadnock Community Bank the auction for the 150+ year old building will be auctioned on until June 24 at 4pm.
The building in the center of town on Route 13 housed a store for more than 100 years but Julie Whitcomb and Matt Gelwaks, the former store owners, closed up this past September. The building needed repairs and with a dirt basement, Whitcomb said it was hard to keep the store warm.
