Many southern NH residents facing the discouraging and confusing process of looking for a job met at Amherst Country Club on Monday evening, September 13, 2010 to hear success stories and learn modern techniques for landing an interview and securing a position in an uncertain economy. The event, called Get NH Back to Work, was designed to provide a venue for networking, but also offer essential tools from sponsors Demarest Career Directions, Sandy Demarest and Relaunch Career Associates, Dawn Rosetti and Melissa Brodeur.

“Some people have been out of work so long that their self-esteem has taken a hit,” says Sandy Demarest, Career Transition Coach. “As professionals, we can patiently guide them back onto the path, while sharing up-to-the-minute methods for unearthing opportunities and navigating the process from
Linked In to salary negotiations.” Raffle prizes included a free resume critique and a free hour of career coaching.

Attendees who have recently found employment touted the benefits of belonging to a Direct Your Career Club, a 10–week organized program of education, accountability and support for job seekers. “Through a set of life circumstances, I found myself in a new state, recovering from surgery and looking for a job,” said Frances Doyle of Amherst. “I don’t have my dream job, yet. But, I am gainfully employed in a job that I like at a time when many adults are not. And I continue using techniques I learned from Sandy, Dawn and Melissa in moving closer to my ultimate job goal.”

A new session starts on Monday, September 27 from 6:30 to 8:00pm in Nashua. The cost of $150 includes a complimentary private career coaching session. Limited scholarships available. For more information, contact Sandy Demarest at 603-801-6689 or sandy@demarestcareerdirections.com.
