It’s good news for Mont Vernon residents and travelers looking for a quick stop on their through Mont Vernon via Route 13, the old Mont Vernon General Store that closed over a year ago has been purchased and a plan to reopen is in the works.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, Kristin O’Brien and Harold Croteau of Townsend, MA purchased the store and the residential lot at 8 main Street for $72,500. Plans to reopen as Fishbone’s Country Store selling local products, homemade items and possibly small classes in home crafts and raising small animals.
A New Hampshire Business Sales press release states that the gas pumps on the store property will be removed and with experience as a comedian, O’Brien plans to possibly have a comedy night at the store.
