According to the Mont Vernon Recreation Commission, Jew Pond in Mont Vernon remains closed. The town’s monthly newsletter notified residents and said the Department of Environmental Services is “99 percent certain” that hazardous blue-green algae is growing in Jew Pond.

The historic Mont Vernon General Store that has been a landmark to the town since the mid 1800s and was up for auction last Thursday. Unfortunately, almost no one showed up.
